SquatSpace artist collective began in 2000 in a squatted shopfront gallery in Sydney's highly public Broadway Squats. In 2001 we became a spaceless organisation and began making artistic projects as a collective exploring the poetics and politics of space in our city.

Some of SquatSpace's key projects include:

unReal Estate- a mock real estate agency advertising empty buildings

SquatFest - an annual Anti-TropFest film Fest hosted in various squatted venues each year on the same night as TropFest.

The Redfern/Waterloo: Tour of Beauty a bike and bus tour that takes participants to key sites of interest in the local area to meet with various community stakeholders who speak to the group.

The tour has been run numerous times since 2005 in conjunction with a number of exhibitions and conferences including; Disobedience, Ivan Dougherty Gallery; If You See Something, Say Something, Mori Gallery; ArtLanguage: Every Publishable Place, Cross Arts Project Space, Sydney; ChangeX Conference, Sydney University; GANG Festival; Verge Festival, Sydney University; Engage Conference, University of Technology, There Goes The Neighbourhood, Performance Space; Concrete Culture, Ivan Dougherty Gallery.
